Game Update 8.6 Patch Notes - A Memorable Picnic | "After the Journey"

This month is about control. How you build it, how you hold it, and when to let it tip in your favor.

Leading the charge this month are our new variants, Scale Tipper Filia and Mana Flow Squigly, who bring a mix of quiet efficiency and overwhelming pressure. Whether you prefer steady, calculated play or forcing the fight onto your terms, there’s something here that will feel right at home in your roster.

Alongside these updates, we’re continuing to refine the overall experience with improvements that make managing your collection and investing in your fighters more rewarding than ever. See the full list of updates below!

Collection Recycling

Running out of inventory space right before you open Relics is one of the most frustrating feelings in the game, and it’s been on our radar for a while.

This patch, we’re introducing a new way to manage your inventory with Collection Recycling. In your collection, you will be able to recycle your Fighters similarly to how you sell Moves and Catalysts in your collection. Recycling your Fighters will give rewards similar to as if you were sacrificing them into other Fighters. At a base level, for each Fighter, depending on their rarity, you will receive an amount of Skill Points and XP Treats, with Golds receiving Retakes and Gold Shards, and Diamonds receiving what they would normally get for Converting in the Power Up screen, plus a small number of Retakes as well.

Additionally, if you Recycle a Fighter who you have invested in, 20% of XP, Canopy Coins, and Skill Points that have been invested into the Fighter will be refunded back to you. The main goal of this feature isn’t to expand on resources, but mainly to allow you to clear your collection quicker so that it’s easier to open more Relics for those of you who have a lot of Relics to open with a maxed out Collection.

Prize Fight Updates

This month, we’re boosting the rewards in select Prize Fights. More updates are planned for additional Prize Fights in the near future, but for now, the changes apply to the Character Prize Fights and the Medici Shakedown Prize Fight.

Medici Shakedown Prize Fight

For this Prize Fight, we wanted to add to the number of canopy coins that are available in a couple of different ways. The Medici Shakedown should be a great way to earn Canopy Coins, so we’re increasing the quantity obtained significantly through additional tiers.

Previously, there were only 1,055,000 Canopy Coins available up to 5 Million points earned. Now, there are additional tiers up to 20 Million points, where if you complete them all, you will now earn a total of 2,655,000 Canopy Coins.

Additionally, we’ve added some increased rewards for players who place in the top 50%, top 25%, and top 10% of players at the end of the Prize Fight.

Here are the rewards that are now available in the Medici Shakedown Prize Fight:

Character Prize Fights:

Character Prize Fights have been updated to increase relic rewards across all difficulties, alongside a slight increase in overall challenge. All difficulties now grant more Premiere and/or Headliner Relics. In Diamond and Gold difficulties, a Variant of the featured Character is now required for all fights. Additionally, Diamond difficulty no longer allows the use of Silver or Gold Fighters for Attack or Defense, while Gold difficulty no longer allows the use of Bronze Fighters.

Only the final tier of rewards has been increased for each Character Prize Fight as follows:

Bronze Final Tier:

Prize Fight Refresh Opponent:

This month, we’ve added a new way to refresh opponents in Prize Fights. Previously, opponents could only be refreshed using Theonite, but now you can also watch an ad to refresh them. The Theonite cost remains unchanged. This simply introduces an additional option to refresh opponents without spending this hard currency!

Cabinet of Curiosities Refresh:

For the Cabinet of Curiosities, we’ve added another way to refresh the contents in the CoC. In addition to paying Theonite, you can now watch an ad to refresh it. If you watch an ad to refresh the CoC, it will also refresh the cost of Theonite. So, if you were to pay Theonite for a refresh and then watch an ad to refresh it again, the initial cost of the Theonite refresh will reset back as if the entire timer had elapsed. No changes to the Theonite cost were made, so they are the same as before, there’s just another way you can refresh the CoC now.

Balance Changes:

This month, we’re light on balance changes with just a small nerf to Lucky Lure Umbrella due to just being too good in too many team compositions. This is a small change for now while we see how this does by itself.

Lucky Lure:

Previous SA2: While Umbrella is alive, increase the active Fighter's CRIT DAMAGE by 10/15/20% per stack of REGEN on the Fighter.

New SA2: While Umbrella is alive, increase the active Fighter's CRIT DAMAGE by 5/10/15% per stack of REGEN on the Fighter

We've also updated the buff pool to the following:

Old buff pool

  • Fire: Unflinching
  • Water: Haste
  • Air: Regen
  • Light: Precision
  • Dark: Enrage
  • Neutral: Barrier

New buff pool

  • Fire: Unflinching
  • Water: Haste
  • Air: Regen
  • Light: Precision
  • Dark: Deadeye
  • Neutral: Barrier

Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed an issue with Comet Custodian Marie where Suction Obstruction would interfere with using Hilgard’s Haymaker immediately after.

Known Issues:

  • Two goals for the Backstage Pass in May say they require Bandera Relics, but will work with Headliner Relics instead (Visual Bug only)

Thank you, as always, for your support and for being part of this journey with us. Here’s to a fresh season and more great moments ahead!
